Exploration of Strategies for Enhancing the Quality of Metrological Verification and Calibration

With the advancement of metrological technology, new types of weighing instruments—such as intelligent leveling instruments, dynamic vehicle scales, and unattended vehicle scales—have been progressively deployed. These devices exhibit more complex functionalities and application scenarios compared to traditional weighing instruments. For instance, intelligent leveling instruments feature capabilities such as coordinated leveling across multiple weighing pans and rapid dynamic measurement, whereas dynamic vehicle scales require weighing verification to be performed while the vehicle is in motion. The currently applicable verification standard for dynamic vehicle scales is JJG 907-2006, which can meet routine verification requirements; however, there are currently no unified national verification standards or calibration specifications for new types of equipment such as leveling instruments. Consequently, verification and calibration activities for such devices are primarily conducted based on corporate technical standards and general weighing instrument technical specifications. The existing standards designed for traditional weighing instruments are insufficient to fully address the specialized verification requirements of new weighing instruments. This gap results in a lack of standardized procedures for the verification and calibration of certain new weighing instruments, leading to calibration methods that lack specificity and making it difficult to guarantee the reliability of verification results.
