Electronic price computing scales are widely used in trade settlement scenarios such as farmers’ markets, shopping malls, supermarkets and mobile vendors. They are closely related to people’s daily life and rank among the most widely used electronic weighing instruments in China. In recent years, cheating on electronic price computing scales and short-weight problems have occurred repeatedly. Such issues seriously infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and undermine the order of fair market competition.
On January 8, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued JJG 1204-2025 Verification Regulation for Electronic Price Computing Scales (Trial). It is a dedicated technical specification specially formulated for electronic price computing scales. Based on the formulation background of this regulation, this paper systematically elaborates on its optimized contents from two aspects: general technical requirements and verification methods.
